Title: LIGHT WEIGHT FULL PERFORMANCE LAPTOP
Post by: darlene on April 03, 2013, 14:53:17
HELLO,

I'M LOOKING FOR A GOOD PERFORMANCE - REASONABLY PRICED - LIGHTWEIGHT - FULLY FUNCTIONAL LAPTOP

AT PRESENT I OWN A HP PROBOOK 4420s AND HAVE NO PROBLEMS WHATSOEVER WITH PERFORMANCE, BUT THE THING IS SOOOO HEAVY!  AT THE BEGINNING OF THE DAY ITS LIGHT BUT BY THE TIME I WALK A BIT, ITS LIKE A BIG STONE IN MY BAG.

I'M LOOKING FOR A LAPTOP UNDER 3LBS? IS THAT POSSIBLE?

I AM AN ACCOUNTING PROFESSIONAL AND THEREFORE NEED TO HAVE PEACHTREE 2011/2012, EXCEL, WORD, EMAIL ETC. FULL WORKS, BUT PARTICULARLY THE ACCOUNTING PROGRAMS, QUICKBOOKS AND MYOB ALSO, ALTHOUGH I MOSTLY USE PEACTREE, SOME CLIENTS MAY USE THE OTHERS AND THEREFORE I NEED TO HAVE THEM RESIDING ON MY HARDDRIVE.

ADVICE WILL BE WELCOME PLEASE.

Generally speaking those are two qualifications that are difficult to join in a laptop. Especially a machine, that should be as light as you wish. Let us see...

So 3Lbs are approximately 1.3kg here in Europe.

I dont know any of these Programs, but i supose that you dont need a dedicated graphix card, do you?

If I would guess i'd say that a low voltage quad or dual core CPU might be enough to handle those programs in a satisfying manner.

Although you have not given any specification concerning the display size and price I'll give you some examples, and then you can see which one fits your plans.

It is noticeable, that in that category of weight, you will hardly find any laptop with a greater display size than 13.3". Most laptops are heavier the larger they get. So you need to make a compromise between weight and display size. Do you think that you'll be happ with a computer of that size?
In addition to that we'll need some more information: What are the specifications of those mentioned programes, do you need a dedicated graphix card, whats the price limit?

Another topic I would like to talk to you is the spelling. Please try to follow the basic rules of grammar, so that the forum is more likely to help you out. I think thats the least to be dome ;)

Kind regards

Alex
