Title: 920g MacBook is obsolete: Apple ends support for last 12" Retina MacBook
Post by: Redaktion on October 14, 2026, 16:48:31
The lightest MacBook ever is officially history as of today. Apple is ending support for the 12-inch MacBook for good. Weighing just 920 grams and measuring 3.5 millimeters at its thinnest point, the device is thinner and lighter than all current MacBooks.

QuoteIt is a shame that Apple does not offer a new version of the ultralight laptop, as the more efficient ARM chips in modern MacBooks could allow the manufacturer to address the main criticisms of the 12-inch MacBook.
Hm, not too rarely I find my Air 15's screen too small. Maybe the 12.0 inch screen is the issue. Just get the Air 13 (tho its screen is 13.6 inch (ps: 13.6 is closer to 14, so should have called it Air 14)). If they can make the Air 13 below 1000g (-200g) and the Air 15 by -200-300g, that would be nice.
