Title: Smart inverter ban may wreak havoc on emergency home backup and off-grid living

Apart from robotic vacuums and lawnmowers or humanoid robots, the FCC ban on foreign connected devices includes much more gear. A ban on smart inverters, for instance, could wreak havoc on off-grid and emergency home backup setups.

That's what we get for allowing the Chinese to take over our supply lines for the past few decades. Imagine if we had let this get any worse!

This is ludicrous legislation and is an attempt by the Trump Administration to undermine renewable energy.

The party of personal liberty doesn't seem to respect the fact that a homeowner should be allowed to take this virtually non-existent risk with a home backup system.  The Chinese are not going to be turning off my inverter anytime soon.

The same people who complain about government regulation of business now weaponize it to choose winners and losers.  You can bet they cut some deals with stateside inverter manufacturers before they pulled this stunt.

Military installations are a different matter entirely of course and cyber espionage is a real problem.

Well they were focusing on inverters are water supply systems got attacked by the Iranians.  Let's get our ducks in a row while we still have some water for them to float in.
