More than 1,290 employees of OpenAI, Anthropic, Google DeepMind and Meta signed the open letter Pacing the Frontier on July 28. They want the US government to help build tools for a verifiable brake on AI development. Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei, OpenAI chief scientist Jakub Pachocki and Ilya Sutskever are among the signatories.
