Casio's F-91W, one of the best-selling digital watches ever made, appears to be getting a new F-91WF variant with a recycled fabric strap. The variant has now leaked with three colorways in tow, ahead of an expected August release.

I find the illumination of this watch completely useless. The light isn't bright enough to help much even in total darkness, and my guess is that the dumb idea is to maximise battery life?

Well, that's about accurate regarding the night light and that's the weakest feature of the watch.  The resin strap is another weakness:  it often breaks after not very much use and is replaceable with ones available online but it's not that easy to put a new one on:  you need to get a pin pusher, remove the pin and tap it into the replacement using a small hammer.  Not really that hard but fussier than just using spring bars.  Hopefully the new fabric strap will last better and be more break resistant.  For $22.00, though, it's still a very useful and modest watch that can be afforded by most of the world's citizens.

I 💙 f91. Hope slight mod where the lugs meet the casing for new strap is sturdy. Also hope we can purchase separately the Casio brand straps. Casio please can we have ye olde led light as backlight as it wouldn't be done proper. thanks for another nifty watch
