Title: Farewell, flagship killer – A personal look back as OnePlus leaves Europe
Post by: Redaktion on July 17, 2026, 14:46:15
So, the time has come: OnePlus will soon no longer be available in Europe and many other regions of the world. As an editor at notebookcheck, I've followed the brand from the very beginning, and I'd like to look back on our shared history.

QuoteNot to mention that the competitive landscape is getting a little smaller with the departure of OnePlus.
This is a big one.
But I know someone who still uses OP 6 and another one who still uses his 7T.

Why is OP leaving tho?

What a sad day, especially in the US market.  I loved HTC's metal designs and missed them when they left.  I had a couple OnePlus devices and thought they were great!  The OP15 has the best battery life for a device you can buy in the US and now it's all gone.  I was hopefully they'd expand and launch the smaller "T" series devices...but instead they abandoned all their markets except for China.

Will Oppo expand their operations instead?  I highly doubt it.  Unfortunately in the US, Apple has the market cornered along with Samsung in 2nd.  I'm already importing devices just to get larger batteries.

It looks like the higher integration into Oppo just leads to both brands more or less elling the same devices. So Oppo will take the place, but if it will also expand in America given the circumstances, noone can tell.

Congrats and I am sorry, too. We had the same phones but I moved to Iphone instead of 15 One+ and I am not happy with that choice.
