Walmart has discounted the CyberPowerPC Gamer Xtreme prebuilt gaming PC by a massive 28%. The price drop brings the RTX 5070 and Core Ultra 5 250KF Plus-powered gaming PC below $1,500. This is a pretty good price when we consider that the much weaker Steam Machine also costs $1,349 for the 2 TB model.

And this one does not have the problem of having only 8 GB of VRAM.

For the moment SteamOS/Bazzite will not run on this system. Intel and Nvidia support is still in the works.

Also, like most PCs, you will not have HDMI-CEC support out of box unlike the Steam Machine. I have read there are ways to add that, but not sure the specifics. Neither of these items take away from that the Steam Machine is very expensive for 5 year old technology!

Buy a PC or build your own!
