Intel's new gaming handheld processor Arc G3 Extreme with the Arc B390 iGPU reaches a new performance level and easily beats AMD's counterpart Ryzen Z2 Extreme at 35 Watts.

Yea, so many reviews compare G3E with outdated SOCs like 258V or Z2E. It's not surprising that G3E beats both of them. However, a more interesting question is, does G3E offer any advantage over 358H? Intel claims that G3E was specifically optimized for low power, and it would be interesting to verify.

Does AMD have any plans to actually compete with Intel here or are they just going to continue spewing their delusional cope reframing the G3E as a "worse Strix Halo competitor"? Because yeah, a 35W part is totally in the same class as a 140W part.

GTA V is an outlier here and isn't showing as large of a difference. I'm guessing it's because it's not as gpu bound but more cpu constrained.

I would like to see this article updated with 18w results too.

It's handles low tdp a bit better, so yes.

nope.

I'd like to see this compared to compared to 8060s too at low tdp ranges (35w, 30w, 25w, 20w).

Even though someone has already done the testing so we kinda already know the answer.

8060s (35w) ~> G3 Extreme (25w) / 8060s (30w) ~> G3 Extreme (20w) .. basically on average ~10w more efficient for roughly same performance in games.
