Title: We tested Linux on the new Lenovo ThinkPad T16 Gen 5 AMD
Post by: Redaktion on June 16, 2026, 17:14:09
Lenovo's ThinkPads offer support for Linux out of the box and some models can also be purchased with Linux. We tested the current ThinkPad T16 Gen 5 with Linux and checked the support of functions and features.

Thanks for making the extra effort verifying Linux compatibility.

I realize this is a niche, but it is a very big deciding factor for dozens of us! Dozens!

I'm curious to see if this testing will extend to other laptop models in the future.

AMD, FSR4 on RDNA3.5 iGPUs, like this laptop and the expensive Strix Halo, have, when?

AMD, I'm asking because, especially this ThinkPad's weak af iGPU would profit from FSR4 upscaling and TB users want to play games, once in a while, too.
