Title: Warning: Stay away from Intel's Graphics 2 Xe3
Post by: Redaktion on June 08, 2026, 16:03:05
While the graphics requirements of modern games continue to increase, the performance of cheaper iGPUs has stagnated for years. The best example of this is Intel's Graphics 2 Xe3, the entry-level model from the brand-new Panther Lake generation.

That this is still faster than the igpu in the neo.

Sure, however lets add a few things...

- a better general reference might be the "Steam Deck" & AMD 780M/740M series vs the 840M

- surely in efforts to confuse potential customers, the Panther Lake APU's that actually HAVE decent iGPU's have an 'X' in the naming convention

- last but not least no attempt was made to use 720P or lower resolution along with 'frame gen' as many of the products with weak GPU's do to get 'playable' frame rates.

No, it's not. Check "3DMark Steel Nomad Light":

Macbook Neo: 1702 points
2 Xe3 Graphics: 1228 points

So the Macbook Neo iGPU is 40% faster, which is a lot. Only in gaming the Macbook loses, because it has to use an emulation layer. But if the app runs natively on Mac (and the above Benchmark does), it's miles ahead.
