how are PC manufacturers this clueless?
These are desktop systems with no ports for standard peripherals.
Almost every mouse and keyboard out there still requires USB-A, so now you need some sort of adapter to use the thing.
I work for Lenovo and we provide two USB-C to A dongles with our GB10 Lenovo ThinkStaton PGX. In TechSpecs, you can see what is included with each device. I tried to hyperlink but the site will not let me.

If you delete the URL prefix part first (e.g. h t t p s : / / w w w . ), it should let you.
