HP has now started selling one of its new 14-inch laptops with Intel Panther Lake processors. Equipped with up to Arc B390 graphics, the OmniBook 7 14 can also be configured with PCIe Gen 5 storage, 32 GB of RAM and an 1800p OLED display featuring 1,100 nits peak brightness.

Thats a lot of money for a laptop with only 2 USB-C ports that are both located at the same side.. come on HP. You should know better!

*You're telling me the ARC B390 costs less than a $100 over the 4-Xe Intel graphics iGPU?

Open the configurator, see three 60Hz 300bit brightness monitor options.

Are HP out of their minds? Why are they selling absolute garbage?

The only decent option is "14" diagonal, 3K (2880 x 1800), OLED, up to 120 Hz, 0.2 ms response time, UWVA, micro-edge, BrightView , Low Blue Light, SDR 500 nits, HDR 1100 nits, 100% DCI-P3" that will set you back by $220.

I noticed a softer image quality when using VRR on my QD-OLED TV and stopped using it since then.

Man, I can't believe the fact that nearly 5 months after panther lake release I still couldn't find a decently priced one. Only ones that caught my eye were the OmniBook 7 and Xs. Both were north of 1300, with a 1200p 16 inch display. Expected better from HP and the industry.
