Post by: Redaktion on May 10, 2026, 12:04:21
The Redmi Pad 2 SE was introduced in China in April 2026, and so far, Xiaomi hasn't officially shared anything about the global launch of the affordable tablet. However, for those interested, it's available to import via Giztop with a $229 price tag.

What does compact (tablet) mean to you? Do you mean something like the 2019 Galaxy Tab A 8.0 with its 8.0" screen? That's one of the smallest tablets on the market (give it a go and find something smaller: https://www.gsmarena.com/results.php3?mode=tablet&fDisplayInchesMax=8 (https://www.gsmarena.com/results.php3?mode=tablet&fDisplayInchesMax=8)), it measures 210 × 124.4 × 8 mm. This Xiaomi here, by comparison, has a display 2" larger and measures 226.5 × 147.9 × 7.4 mm.

Now let's crunch the numbers, purely some basic math from the elementary school: Samsung is 210 × 124.4 = 26,124 mm², Xiaomi is 226.5 × 147.9 = 33,537 mm². Xiaomi is 7,413 / 26,124 × 100% = 28.37% larger. While having a 56.25% larger display area (both 16:10), (10" / 8")² = 1.5625 = 56.25%.

Fairly compact, and that was, again, compared to one of the smallest existing tablets on the Android market ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
