Unknown Worlds' design lead, Anthony Gallegos, says Subnautica 2's development remained focused on delivering "the best Subnautica experience" despite recent legal turmoil involving Krafton and former studio leadership. The sequel enters Early Access on May 14 for $29.99 on PC and day one on Xbox Game Pass, launching with co-op, new biomes, and a playable foundation, but without a complete story as the studio plans roughly two years of updates before a 1.0 release.
