LG has started selling new 16-inch laptops with AMD Gorgon Point and Intel Panther Lake processors. Featuring a new Aerominum composite body, the Gram Pro 16 has reached China and Japan with optional 120 Hz OLED displays and a 77 Wh battery across all SKUs before an eventual global release.

It is never the good year to buy a laptop. In 2024 Arrow Lake was not more powerful than 13th generation. 2025, Lunar Lake was a lukewarm family, better efficiency and that was it, and with AI bursting, not enough. Now we have Panther Lake, looks promising but RAM skyrockets and we want 32gb or 64gb in a new laptop.

THe new Lenovo X9 15 inches is 3000€ and if you want to go from 32 to 64, then it is 700€ more. And it is soldered, so no chance to buy know and update later.

Waiting for the T61 with PL 358 but I am guessing I will extend the life of my XPS a few more years XD

Yea, it didn't do much for desktop. For laptop there were still notable efficiency and performance per watt gains, though not enough to catch up to AMD.
