"performance should be respectable"

Indeed. Fitted with 8T/16GB/512GB the main drawback is the tiny keyboard! However people DO NOT purchase computers like this for "work horses" but rather something that is easy to carry around and run whatever application you need to be able to VIEW or do minor changes.

Extra points on a high PPI display! No mention on how long that battery might last while in use.

Actually, since it runs desktop applications AND has a keyboard this likely has better price/performance/use over just about ANY "tablet" on the market.

NBC's bias against 'average but very useful' hardware shows here.

there would be enough space for a 9" display at least!
making everything so small as possible and then always the same design flaws, wasting space where it matters the most.
get this right and that would be interesting..
