Title: Windows 11 KB5077181: Microsoft claims stability, my Lenovo LOQ proves otherwise
Post by: Redaktion on February 19, 2026, 18:40:13
Windows 11 KB5077181 (OS Builds 26100.7840/26200.7840) shipped on Feb. 10, 2026. On a Lenovo LOQ test system, KB5077181 installed Feb. 11 (Build 26200.7840) and was followed by Wi-Fi instability, Bluetooth disconnects, stutter, and slow shutdowns.

I guess everything went back to normal once you uninstalled the update?

I personally uninstalled it from my cloud-gaming instance (ShadowPC), as even ShadowPC sent an email to its customers saying this KB (KB5077181, but also KB5075941 if you're on the 23H2 branch) could make the system unreachable.

Hi there! At the moment, I'm running the latest update. I won't be rolling back or uninstalling so I can keep an eye on this :)

Pretty much the same my side. Additionally, as I mentioned, super slow shutdown. I have an old Gigabyte laying around... Would love to see if it boots up and shuts down faster than the LOQ... Without updates on the Gigabyte installed.

Looks like some vibe coding in Microsoft broke their stuff. Quality control is super low there, it is all vibes these days. With all the Windows bullshit, I am surprised more people haven't transitioned.

I don't know why people still bother with Windows, when there's MacOS - Apple has both superior software and hardware these days, at competitive prices especially for basic configurations - and next month even the very low end will be dominated by them.

Microsoft should use Vibe Testing just like they use Vibe GOO*ING.

Because such a generalisation is false. The better ecosystem depends on one's needs. This is so for operating system, hardware, software and prices.

Operating system: Windows is better for powerful file management.

Hardware: Apple is better for choosing silence of fanless models. Both are comparable for battery life when choosing suitable models. Windows is better for systems with great speed due to high power draw.

Software: It depends on the needed software. It is said that Apple is good for music production. Windows is known for a great variety of good "legacy" softwares. Neither matters if one only needs basic mainstream software, such as a browser.

Price: The current AI crisis is an exception. Usually, Apple storage etc. upselling is pure greed. Among Windows computers, there are greedy exceptions but, in usual times, one can choose low-cost hardware. Currently, not buying anything is a good strategy, except that maybe, e.g., Apple base models might still be priced fairly - but one can always buy earlier generations or used /refurbished to get reasonably priced hardware for Apple or Windows.

"Apple has both superior software and hardware these days"
Well, the CPUs are very good (low TDP), but that is it. If you need a very powerfull machine, the "i" will cost 50-100% more, than the other PC/laptop (workstation), not to mention the limited/crippled OS lol

Update: So, I shut my LOQ down about 10 minutes ago... Atleast it's serving as a heater. But in all seriousness, it's a fantastic machine.
