Sixteen years ago today Steve Jobs introduced the original iPad, Apple's first tablet stands as the product that quietly reshaped personal computing. What began as a bold experiment between smartphones and laptops, went on to create a new product category and became one of Apple's key platforms.

Reshaped PC: clickbait lie in the title.

New category of PC: extra category, but not new at that time, rather previously it had been executed even worse. New was maybe the feasibility as a couch consumption device with enough battery life and handholdability for this purpose, provided one could get the desired files onto the tablet at all.
