Title: More Xbox games cancelled, as slow console sales and lack of exclusives make PS5 a priority
Post by: Redaktion on January 27, 2026, 17:40:56
Console owners could see the selection of new Xbox games start to dwindle. 1348 Ex Voto and Nickelodeon Splat Pack will not have Xbox Series X|S versions as expected. Declining sales, price increases, and fewer exclusives are incentives for publishers to focus on the PS5 and Switch handhelds.

Microsoft also lowered production of XSX and the console is very hard to find in many countries. That is the main reason for low sales.

This is just stupidly stupid. I say this as someone who owns an Xbox, a PS5, a Switch 2, and a gaming laptop—so this isn't some biased Xbox take. But About 80% of the time, when I do want to play games, I'm on the Xbox. The controller battery life is simply far better, and I genuinely enjoy chasing achievements, which have always hit differently on Xbox.
That said, I love all my consoles. What I'm saying is that people play on what they like, and taking things away from them just because it doesn't fit your numbers makes no sense. There have been more than enough Xbox consoles sold since launch to make any game release worthwhile.
