Lenovo's large ThinkPad T16 Gen 4 AMD is a good business laptop, but it shares the mainboard with the smaller ThinkPad T14 and therefore wastes internal space. In addition to the cooling solution, this also affects the maintenance options.

Yes!
Spot on - this is (literally) the room for improvement.

Especially the not available higher resolution of the screen makes me buy E16 devices (instead of T16) for our company.
