Capcom revealed in a Press Start Australia interview that it abandoned a six-year multiplayer Resident Evil prototype, which was developed initially before Resident Evil 8: Village, because it was "fun to play," making it diverge from the series' survival-horror roots, and reworked it into the upcoming single-player Resident Evil Requiem.
