Title: Maximum clarity: Innovative e-paper reaches human-eye resolution without backlight
Post by: Redaktion on November 03, 2025, 14:38:24
With a pixel density of over 25,000 PPI, the newly developed Retina E-Paper reaches the resolution limit of human vision. Its color display works without an internal light source, relying instead on electrochromic nanopixels that reflect ambient light.

What on earth are you talking about. The human has a maximum acuity of about 0.4 arcminute per line-pair or about 300ppi for a device held at 10-12" away. The theoretical maximum which can't really be achieved is ~860ppi at 4" distance which no one can focus that closely.

For a desktop monitor of about DCI 8K resolution in 32" size, would get you to the limit of human acuity at 12".
