YouTuber ETA PRIME tested the GPD Win 5 with the official SteamOS 3.8 main branch, marking one of the first successful runs of Valve's OS on AMD's new Strix Halo platform. The handheld achieved smooth performance across several AAA titles, though some differences compared with Windows 11 remain.

It seems powerful and all, but there's a reason the Steam Deck is a bestseller: no one has been able to match its price:fun ratio.

Big deal. My MSI claw 8 plays cyberpunk at 1200p, 20 watts, medium settings, and gets 80 FPS. And its $500 cheaper with a bigger screen. Yes, im using balanced Xess and Frame Gen. But most people, or at least a big chunk of people would use upscaling anyway if they only got 71 fps at 1080.
