I need this type of device but with 4g/5g modem. I'm stuck on Galaxy Tab S2 8" which will break any day now...
Who needs a small, but not portable tablet that has only wifi anyway?
There is only one at the moment, the Huawei matepad mini.
And the inclusion of a modem makes it far more expensive.
QuoteHowever, the display only achieves a maximum of 508 cd/m² in HDR mode.
As with any zone-backlit display tech / let alone full-backlit (like in this case probably), and without mini-LED backlight: Any HDR is fake HDR (more infos on why see e.g. YouTube/Monitors Unboxed). OLED, or similar per pixel dimming, is really the future here for HDR. Also, putting all those mini/micro-LEDs seems like a hassle, can they even make it to reach the required contrast for true HDR? And well indeed, as SAMSUNG has already confirmed, OLED production will only go up for the next many years, and so become cheaper and, due to advancements in e.g. color pigments, more power efficient as well.

The elephant in the room issue for many chinese devices: The hardware for the price is great, but security updates end in just a 2-3 years (phones may do better, as all are going for 6 years of updates).
Fix the forum board software and don't post the preview when a updated text is in the textarea..
Quotebright 165 Hz screen
With pixel response times of 14.89 ms and 32.48 ms it really is a 1/0.01489 = 67 Hz and 1/0.03248 = 30 Hz screen. Nasty.
Too bad i have to choose not to purchase it because it comes with a very short software support, especially considering it is running on an outgoing flagship processor. Xiaomi should have provide a longer software support to make it a viable choice.

To be fair, it depends on model as Xiaomi Pad 7 (non-pro) has a much longer software support than the Pro version which is baffling.
