In a recent interview with FRVR, Skyrim lead designer Bruce Nesmith argued that the game's lasting appeal stems from its uncompromising open-world design and unrestricted player agency, qualities he says many modern titles continue to treat as a cliché even in 2025.

So obviously NOT mentioned is that in the 14yrs since TES5 was released, everyone is still waiting on TES6!

YES there are nearly countless "mods" for Skyrim available.

YES, nobody since has released a game that includes similar scope of content and player freedom.

Is it that surprising that TES5 is 'out played' over TES4 even if TES4 has a fresh coat of paint?
