Title: Samsung charges premium prices for the Galaxy Book5 Pro, but €1699 for 16 GB RAM and a 512 GB SSD is excessive

Samsung's Galaxy Book Pro series was never cheap, but charging €1699 for the small Core Ultra 5 with 16 GB RAM and 512 GB SSD storage is pretty confident. This is even €250 more expensive compared to the Apple MacBook Air M4.

On top of that, build quality is worse than macbook - hinge and bottom cover is like plastic and starts moving after couple of months.. Speakers are still bottom-firing and of average quality.. I bought it and regret about it..

Every day Scamsung plumbs new lows. Far worse than Apple these days since at least the Mac Books are decently built. Never trust Scamsung hardware or LG for that matter. Been burned several times by both companies 4th rate hardware.

I saw at least couple of entries that complain about the pricing of this specific Samsung model. Funny that in Nordic regions (e.g. Sweden) the higher end configuration has shockingly low regular sale price. I picked up a 32gb 258V 512ssd model for about 1000 euros six months ago and the price is still the same. Also it is true that this is an excellent laptop specially for internals, dimensions, weight and build quality excepting battery life which falls behind that of M4 MBA. Best windows ultrabook offering as a total package i've seen for the price until panther lake shows up probably.

It's time for many laptop manufacturers to invest in this CAMM2 memory, which is easy to change and upgrade, saves energy, and is more powerful than current SODIMMs. China is already ahead of us. I don't know what's happening to the rest of the West that hasn't taken the final step.
I hope future Samsung laptops have this option and that they finally invest in AMD processors like AMD's GorgonPoint, even with low memory. I can be sure that many people would buy it, and Samsung's sales would increase.
Samsung hasn't invested in AMD for almost five years now. Now is the time, and if they upgrade to the AMD HALO 395+, which is currently the best processor and the one everyone wants.
