The Google Pixel Watch 2 is getting new features as part of a software update. One of these features isn't specifically advertised by Google, but it could still be a significant improvement depending on the intended use.

Another method of saving money is not buying an ewaste with limited lifespan of 2-3 years of regular usage before you can bin it due to battery not holding any charge anymore.

What? It is the most repairable smartwatch on the planet right now according to ifixit. See their blog post and it got near perfect rating of 9/10.

The battery and display are all replaceable with just just standard screws.
