Well sure. First off generally speaking a 'Console' can provide:
- fairly inexpensive entry point for gaming
- mostly plug & play experience
- mostly highly optimized library of games to play
- generally ~>8yr life cycle
However on the flip side none of them will ever get awards for performance or customization options.
In the 'gaming PC' space while the Steam Deck is the least expensive entry point (if we don't factor in devices >1-2 generation out of date or 'open box' or 'referbished' devices) and the 15-16" models fall into the 'sweet spot' of cost/performance for 'gaming laptops'.
YES, even Nvidia's last generation BOTTOM OF THE LINE mobile dGPU (the 4050) can run circles (performance wise) around the console offerings @ 1080P.
YES, gaming on a PC can be via keyboard+mouse OR via wired (or Wireless!) controllers - your choice!!
YES, gaming on a PC can open up MANY MORE game 'storefronts' to purchase compatible games.
