The Open Printer features a modular and highly repairable design, and while it uses the popular HP 63 cartridges, it lacks DRM blocks that lock out third-party cartridges. It also allows printing on paper rolls, so you can either use the in-built cutter to make A4 sheets, or print longer items like banners. The Open Printer will be launched via a crowdfunding campaign soon.

Wall mounted with roll paper... Sign me up. This looks awesome.

The title and article should be corrected.

This is not Open Source Hardware, as the license chosen forbids commercial use.

Not to mention the RPi is proprietary hardware filled with proprietary blobs

Wall mounted roll paper? How am I supposed to print on two sides?
Maybe we will save ink, but we will waste more paper.
