While the universe holds many surprises, Venus could well be hiding a major threat to Earth. And many scenarios are already being considered in order to avoid any catastrophe.

Wow... with all the nightmare fuel stuff going on for real right now, we still had time for a nice speculative "what if" bit of terror and scare mongering.

Venus has been there as long as the Earth has. That means this isn't new or a changed situation. Which means this isn't news... someone went looking for a way to put a scary spin on it.

That's tabloid-level bad journalism.
