The GPD Win 5 is the first gaming handheld that anyone can actually buy with an AMD Strix Halo APU. Starting at nearly $1,450, the GPD Win 5 is configurable with up to an AMD Ryzen AI Max+ 395 and 64 GB of RAM at launch.

Asking such a price and throwing in an LCD in simply not serious.

A good ips panel is still superior to most OLED panels out there.
And they don't have pwm flicker issue as much as oled screens.
I prefer a good ips lcd screen over oled any day.
They could indeed provide an OLED option because most people these days prefer it ever since iphones started using OLED.

I wish there was an alternative to both IPS and OLED. Something that could give characteristics that are closer to OLED but PWM free like IPS. Because I can't go back to any IPS now (even the decent ones) after using OLED for awhile on smartphones (just too used to the contrast and blacks and everything else looks terrible) but at the same time OLED still gives me severe headaches after like few hours in darker environments. And that's using one with high freq. anti flicker technology.

Maybe VA or miniLED could be better? Idk..
