Title: UCLA develops eyelid-mounted sensor to track fatigue with 96% accuracy
Post by: Redaktion on September 21, 2025, 16:33:01
A team of researchers at UCLA has developed an on-eyelid sensor that tracks blinking patterns to decode fatigue levels in real-time. The breakthrough was made possible by a waterproof bioelectronic material.

I don't understand why they invent this. We are not machines (yet). We know when we're tired (yawning). When we want to sleep, we take a nap or get some fresh air. Do these "scientists" think humans have lost the basic ability to know when they are tired or they should have a rest?

"yet its full theoretical and experimental potential remains to be unlocked." -Dr Chen

Actually they can unlock its potential in the Squid Games in the USA. Imagine the game host asks poor laborers to work non-stop for 24 hours. They will be fitted with this tiny device. Anyone who shows signs of fatigue will be shot in the head immediately. The person who lasts the longest in this anti-fatigue game will win one billion dollars.

Humans never had the basic ability to know when they are tired (or drowsy or sleepy) when driving, so there are countless accidents and a lot of research and regulation to prevent at least some of them.
