Title: Apple iPhone Air outperforms the Galaxy S25 Edge in battery drain tests despite capacity disadvantage
Post by: Redaktion on September 21, 2025, 15:17:04
Apple's new iPhone Air is equipped with a laughably small battery in a world where even compact phones sport 5,000 mAh batteries. In spite of that, the iPhone Air manages to offer solid battery life in hands-on tests—better than the Galaxy S25 Edge, and astonishingly close to the iPhone 17.

Hardly surprising as the Apple SoC is significantly more efficient than anything Qualcomm or Samsung has ever produced. I'll guarantee SD Gen 5 will also be well behind in performance per watt too.

Why does Apple always use a smaller capacity battery when the body is the same size as a similar-sized Android smartphone?  Is Apple trying to save money?

Thin and light is Apple's aim while lying, and watching many journalists lie, about the fake thinness of the camera bump.

If only they would be well behind it pricing too, that would be nice.

It might have something to do with keeping the weight down as typically the battery is responsible for most of it.
