Contending with rising Xbox and PS5 prices, retailers are selling fewer consoles compared to previous eras. Data firms show how console owners are becoming older and more affluent. With an abundance of cross-platform titles, buyers are also relying more exclusively on PC gaming.

Greed kills .
What did they expect to happen when consoles of past were more accessible to everyone, these prices are insane for consoles that have less and less exclusives as time goes on .
Last console I bought was a PS4 and have no plans to upgrade anytime soon . I could of swore I read somewhere that  the PS5 has under $300 in hardware but costs almost double that in retail.
