Jeux Vidéo Magazine reports, citing anonymised internal Ubisoft sources, that a remake of Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag is in development at Ubisoft. The project, led by Ubisoft Singapore, is said to feature RPG-style combat and loot systems, with a release targeted for early 2026.

Rpg combat is literally one of the biggest complaints that Ive heard about the new assassins creeds. The fact that, in Assassins Creed 1 you could just assassinate a guard without consideration for HP or anything was an absolutely revolutionary idea. And now ubisoft is getting rid of what made the series unique to make it a generic alternate-history rpg. And then, because they dont like the fans pointing out how bad things have gotten, they decide to remake the best one with the worst mechanics decisions they ever made.

This seems like spite towards their users for not liking the slop they've shoveled for the past 4 years
