I would like to know how much they already verified. Early can be the first 100k but biggest concern is the later ones

Pay for what? All they have to do is release the server code, simple as that. cost 0. Or just disable the switch that requires internet for the non-multiplayer games.
Better yet would be if they don't include these stuff in the first place if it isn't necessary, they will then actually save money.
I see no reason if a person pays for a game, they should lose what they paid for. Do you also think that once a manufacturer stops selling your computer model, they can just disable your computer preventing it from booting?
They should start releasing games with LAN mode again.
If you look at xlink Kai's list of supported games, very few modern games are supported today.
