Highly doubtful the 96CU version will be for desktop. More likely Pro workstation cards and why the stupidly large gap in the range between 40 and 96CU's. Why is there no AT1 crd with 56-64CU. For a desktop a 64CU 80XT class gpu would be more than enough as RDNA5 is going to offer huge improvements in Path and Ray tracing, better IPC, GDDR7, so 10080XT with 64CU's would probably easily beat a 6080 Rubin and even match or beat 5090.
