Title: Minisforum teases MS-S1 Max mini PC powered by AMD's Ryzen AI Max+ 395 APU with dual USB4 V2 connectors
Post by: Redaktion on August 22, 2025, 17:23:14
Even though the MS-S1 Max model has been teased since May, Minisforum had not previously revealed any other spec except the obvious Ryzen AI Max+ 395 APU. The latest teaser finally reveals the case design, maximum TDP specs and the surprising addition of two USB4 V2 connectors. Full specs are expected to be revealed in a few days.

Oh my goodness, what Minisforum has released is a real beast. The price is what doesn't match. If it were to drop to $2,000-$2,500, it would surely be a best-seller for this type of mini-PC. The technical specifications are truly impressive:
Ryzen AI Max+ 395 APU
NPU and Radeon 8060S iGPU
2 USB 4 V2 connectors that are supposed to be as fast as the new Thunderbolt 5 standard.
RAM: 64 GB, 96 GB, and 128 GB
WIFI 7

Given Minisforum's recent track record with their products' reliability issues and their abysmal warranty service, I would stay the hell away from them for a machine of this price. Not worth the risk.

+1 to this. Received a defect device and eventually got a refund but hell it was a long wait.
