A YouTuber benchmarked AMD's Radeon 9070 XT and Nvidia's RTX 5080 across Windows 11 and Linux. Tests in more than 10 games show Linux gaming in 2025 coming surprisingly close to Windows performance.

Is the FG or dlss/fsr on? Honestly i think it's quite rubbish when you say the 5080 is doing only 200fps in 1080p for doom: the dark age. Where i max out the graphic setting with PT on, x4 mfg in 4k, i get over 150fps on my 5080, how could 1080p only get 200fps? 🤷 also if PT is off, it's over 300++fps with mfg x4, 150++fps for fg off in 4k.

Frame Generation as a smoothing technology has no deal in performance testing. If you average 150 FPS with 4xMFG then your input latency is on the level of 35 FPS, around 29 ms instead of 7 ms, that true 150 FPS would give you = so sluggish as hell.

For the price difference of the tested cards i could buy lossless scaling and then some to target any FPS number i wish.
