Title: Meet the DIY RTX 4090 handheld PC that can run AAA games at 120 fps with the GPU staying at 72 °C

Not only is an RTX 4090-powered handheld possible, it's here. This DIY creation shows that playing demanding AAA games at max settings while on the go might be more achievable than you think. The full build and its performance are a sight to behold.

There are only two use case scenarios I could only imagine for this thing, first to use it as a very compact desktop replacement, it has all of the bells and whistles to be used as a desktop PC in a very small form factor. And second would be as a small compact desktop replacement that could be packed away into a backpack and taken while traveling.
But it looks simply Way too big to be used comfortably as a handheld! I doubt it would be very comfortable taken out on a airplane or on a bus or on a train...
Plus with that cpu and gpu power the heatsink must be pretty heavy...
I have a Win600 that's slightly smaller than a Steam Deck and I still feel that it's pretty big!
Still, given that this was a DIY project I gotta hand it to them for building this!

Nice idea, nice legs shame about the batteries.
Question I'm asking why Intel 14900 Raptor(Rapture)Lake, why not the Ryzen 9800X3D?

The only problem is the insanity that gpu prices have reached thanks primarily to Nividia but also AMD, TSMC and other players in the industry. A handheld with discrete gpu would just cost too much.

Yeah it will make sense to a few ppl with too much money to burn but not most people.

Vendors like Asus, Lenovo etc and heck even Valve I bet, have already considered handhelds with discrete laptop gpu chips but then dropped the idea.

Probably because of the 3d cache on the dye, would increase thickness and complicate cooling.
