It's not 1.0, they ran out of money so they are releasing it out of early access with 0.6. If you're looking to do some harder hitting journalism rather than just acting as a PR outlet for what is essentially a press release, do a deep dive into the troubled and unethical development of this game, including the developers sockpuppeting Steam reviews.
After reading the Steam page about how much that's listed above is not-yet-playable and not-free-to-play... I'm a lot less interested
Cash strapped devs being dodgy with Kickstarter $ and levels is the risk of early adopter & prepurchase pain and I don't know enough detail to decide whether or not the word 'scam' is justifiably used... but the level of context in this "reporting" is the typically deplorable standard of today's tech press
