The P1 G8 really needs a 5070 TI with 12GB VRAM, even if it's a lower wattage variant. The significantly slower 5070 with 8GB VRAM just isn't acceptable as a workstation class card.
lenovo really taking the p*** here
WHAT THE HELL DO YOU MEAN ONLY INTEL??????????
the bribe must have been massive
Where is Strix Halo for Thinkpads? Yeah, we know some engineering software requires NVidia (which is terrible for competition), but SH with 128GB of shared RAM makes tasks possible that are near impossible on VRAM limited dGPUs, while using (much) less power. This is AMD's chance to make waves.

The bribe is only in your head. Did you ever see a BMW engine in a Mercedes designed and manufactured car? Same here. The X1 and the P1 lines are made (R&D) together with Intel. That's how it was since the very first X1/P1 model.

I hope so (finally). I don't think Strix Halo makes as much sense for desktop (with a 'real' GPU) but a Thinkpad with great cooling would be a fantastic portable system.
