Title: Philips Brillance 5K monitor launches as rival to Apple Studio Display
Post by: Redaktion on July 29, 2025, 01:53:54
Philips has launched new monitor for users with comparatively high demands. This monitor has a higher resolution than the usual 4K screens, but it also sports a robust feature set, such as the numerous advertised connectivity options.

If they release a 39" version for PC, sign me up.

All I want is a 5k2k screen that does a native 120 Hz or more, isn't curved, has sharp text, and has good color reproduction. This is a unicorn of a monitor apparently.

27" in 2025 is just too small. Min should be 32"

Depends what you use it for, Apple's Studio Display or Asus' ProArt 5k for everything except gaming because they're stuck at 60 Hz, otherwise drop down to 4k and have at it if you don't need 5k resolution.

(nobody needs 5k resolution, but everybody is a mindless prosumer nowadays)

5k2k is a wide aspect ratio. I already have a 27" 4k display. I'd like a 34"ish wide screen, with 5k wide by 2k tall, otherwise the same PPI as a 4k display that wasn't wide.

I need 5k for crisp line weights in CAD drafting. Granted this is a PPI issue but a problem that's unsolved in any 4k screen I'm aware of.

Same. That's exactly what I'm looking for too. A 21:9 5K2K version of the ProArt PA32UCDM is my dream monitor and I would buy it in a heartbeat. I have a cheap 34in LG monitor that I'm dying to replace but it's a flat 21:9 and I can't see myself using either a curved monitor or a 16:9 monitor.
