According to a new report, Huawei is rumoured to be entering the compact flagship soon to rival recent releases by Apple, Lenovo, RedMagic and Xiaomi, among others. Backed by an 8.8-inch OLED display, Huawei's alternative will target those looking for a lightweight and portable tablet rather than gamers.

No for me to buy tablets without sim card slots.

Don't forget Alldocube who became a top tablet maker almost solely on this 8" tablet space.

If you don't mind a Helio G99 you can still get the Alldocube iPlay 50 mini.  It has a SIM slot.  Definitely not the best tablet in this class, but it meets the requirement.
