Blender Studio's Dogwalk has made its debut on Steam. The game gives you a free, cozy stroll through handmade winter scenery. Built on open-source Godot, it's a short but charming showcase of the devs' creativity.

QuoteIt's Blender Studio's showcase for what's possible using fully open-source tools. The entire project is made with Blender and the popular Godot Game Engine.

I'm honestly a bit disappointed:

First of all I thought they used their own Blender Game Engine, and not Godot. While blender does not have its game engine anymore, it's still developed by others. There are like 2-3 forks of the original blender game engine. I don't know the names, but the youtube channel "Gamefromscratch" showed them sometimes.

Secondly, I wouldn't call it a good showcase for open source tools. Most people look at graphics when it comes to a showcase, but this one looks like a game from 20 years ago. What makes it even more a joke is, that there already existed an open source game called "Yo Frankie", made with blender game engine in 2008 (!), and which basically looked the same.
