A team led by Kazunari Matsuda at Kyoto University has, for the first time, created an atom-thin heterostructure in which the bulk photovoltaic effect can be generated and continuously tuned using a magnetic field, enabled by a magnetic underlayer. This breakthrough circumvents the Shockley–Queisser limit, which traditionally constrains the voltage and efficiency of conventional solar cells.https://www.notebookcheck.net/Next-generation-solar-power-Japanese-researchers-achieve-BPVE-breakthrough.1045110.0.html
