Title: Hopper: This e-bike could be a car replacement and has entered mass production
Post by: Redaktion on June 15, 2025, 22:20:25
The Hopper is a very unusual e-bike that has just entered mass production. This bike might even replace a car in some instances, and it supposedly is very easy to use and requires no registration or driver's license in the vast majority of countries.

While I really love seeing these new types of innovative e-vehicles, one aspect that remains underreported is that  any kind of enclosed vehicle without adequate passenger cooling will not be feasible in many, many Southern locations.  I live in Austin Texas and just spent 5 weeks in San Francisco, California, which was like being in a windy refrigerator in comparison to Texas.  It is very hot and very humid in Texas and the heat is stifling for nearly 6 months each year.  This kind of enclosed passenger compartment might not even be survivable in Texas, so this is a major constraint on the potential market for such vehicles.
