Apple's big advantage has been its exclusive hardware and software connection. There is no magic to Apple's silicon other then it has the optimization advantage. I think as far as mobile chips ARM based chips have a huge advantage over Intel and AMD and have spent far more time making desktop processors. After using a Macbook Air M4 for months now, coming from a i7 U series Windows laptop. There is no way I would go back to a Intel or AMD mobile platform.
Don't really care much about performance of new smartphone - I know that it will be more than sufficient for my media/messaging/web usage. Just hoping that all performance benefits are within the same thermal package and it doesn't start to throttle after just opening a browser app..
