At Computex, we had the exclusive opportunity to test the new RTX 5060 Laptop GPU in an engineering sample of the MSI Stealth A16. Contrary to expectations, the performance is surprisingly good and not far off from the RTX 5070 Laptop GPU. https://www.notebookcheck.net/Nvidia-GeForce-RTX-5060-Laptop-Performance-Preview-Almost-at-the-level-of-the-RTX-5070-Laptop.1023497.0.html
In breaking news, severely TDP limited gpu performs no better than less strangled lower tiered one.
Why on earth should the 5060 and 5070 systems have the same TDP when the 5070 has like 25% or more cores and will suffer greatly by being restricted to the same system TDP?
They did it with the 4000 series too. Nvidia claims it's to extend the life of the GPU. It does have the effect of keeping the cards under 85c at full load on gimped cooling.
