Xiaomi has announced its first electric SUV, the YU7, and it offers all the bells and whistles of a modern EV fit in a signature design. The Xiaomi YU7 seems crafted to take on the Tesla Model Y directly when it comes to price and specifications.https://www.notebookcheck.net/Xiaomi-YU7-schools-Tesla-Model-Y-at-every-turn-with-the-largest-battery-in-the-category.1022291.0.html
We won't see those prices in Europe.
The EU won't let them.
It would be an instant hit if they did.

The EV price tag in China is heavily affected by Chinese subsidies. This price is being reported in all the articles. If we compare the same car price in Australia that has a tariff free Chinese car imports then we see the same cars cost more than double.
Lately China incentivized EV exports with additional subsidies to
NEW MARKETS.
But the reality is we could
never see the same price tag for these cars in EU. Even if tariffs were at 0%.
The Tesla Model 3 has a 7.8% tariff in EU and is imported from China. But it costs 50% more than in China.
This is all due to Chinese subsidies.
Looks great, a real 'Poorsche'.

It's already outselling Porsche by quite a bit, and Porsche's sales have tanked so... It seems people that can afford Porsche decided that Xiaomi was a better buy.
China subsidized the selling and buying of EVs long ago (00's) when they saw an opportunity and took the risk. They knew they couldn't compete on the combustion market. It is paying off, not only for that industry but also the battery market, and innovations around both sectors.
The US and Europe snored. Elon didn't, he had a vision, unfortunately his hubris and arrogance kinda got the best of him.
Can you blame China? You have capitalist markets taking advantage of their labor pool; they aren't stupid... they took advantage right back. Brilliant, actually.
And now we're seeing it with their space program, their military (kinda) and their technology.
